A HIGHER PLATFORM
THE HALLMARK OF FAME
THAT DEFINES YOUR CAREER
For many high-profile people in the public eye, releasing a book is a very important milestone in their career. For some, it is the culmination of a long and distinguished period working in entertainment, in the creative arts, or in a role of leadership; for others it's an opportunity to build their existing public profile and increase their exposure and reputation. For many celebrities with a dedicated following, a book is an opportunity to profit from sales to fans who want to understand more about them.

If you’ve risen to the top of your career and have become a recognisable public figure, then only you will know the challenges, difficulties, and sacrifices you faced to get to where you are now. Publishing a book is one of the best ways for a luminary to not only strengthen their image but also to clear up any misunderstandings or misconceptions about their life and character.
A luminary biography can become a major focus point in your career and boost your public profile, leading to more interviews, more work, and more opportunities. Not only that, but the royalties on sales of a popular celebrity autobiography can be a great source of additional income.
Designers and artists can expect more public recognition within the art world via the publication of high-quality portfolios, while public leaders often wish to be represented internationally in a way that reflects the dignity and respect of their standing. Local celebrities often wish to seek opportunities abroad where people are unfamiliar with their work, or target an overseas audience who cannot read the celebrity's native language.

While a poorly-written luminary biography can be a marketing disaster, Metro Writers has a keen understanding of the nature and challenges of celebrity status, and can present a person’s life story in a clear, sympathetic style. Our biographies encourage readers to appreciate a luminary as a real human being, allowing them to communicate on a deep level with their supporters, strengthening their fan base and providing an unparalleled boost to their career.

FAQ
01. Who will pay for writing my book?
For a public figure, a book is an investment that can make money through sales as well as result in an enhanced public image. Most celebrity books are funded by a sponsor, either a financial investor who expects to make a profit, or a close associate who wishes to offer support. It is also possible for an advertiser to sponsor a book project in return for a product promotion in the book.

02. Can I write my own book?

If you've written your own manuscript already, we offer editing, translation and design services to help get your book to the best standard for your memoir. You can also collaborate with us on the manuscript, writing with the guidance of one of our editors or writing professionals.

03. Where will my book be distributed?

We are able to arrange distribution of your print book locally at popular bookstores and/or online. Internationally, we distribute via Amazon, which will make your book available in any country served by Amazon's global distribution service.
We can also make digital ebooks available for download and sale according to your specifications.
Your distribution will greatly impact your sales volume, as will your commitment to promoting your book and telling your readers where to buy it.

04. What if a publisher offers to write my book for free?

Many local publishing houses are willing to fully fund a celebrity book project in exchange for full rights to the book. Luminaries who publish their book via this route may not receive any financial returns from the project and may not be happy with the quality of their book. These projects are not usually published in English.
The motive of a publisher is to make a profit out of your celebrity status, not to bring any benefit to you. Metro Writers will always let you retain full ownership of your book.

05. How long does it take to write a book?

Most luminary memoirs are written over the course of a year, including the time it takes to draft, edit and lay out the final version. We can estimate the time it will take to complete your particular project during the initial discussion phase.

06. Do I need a license to publish my book?

Books published in some countries do require a legal license. Metro Writers will arrange for your license on your behalf. The process can take up to two months.

07. Why are the fees higher than my expectation?

It's possible to hire a young university graduate to write a book for you at a very low cost, but the result is unlikely to reflect the maturity and depth of understanding of a professional, experienced writer, especially if you plan to have your book written in English.

08. Can I make money selling my book?

Books about celebrities and luminaries are very profitable in most parts of the world, but it this is rare in the Eastern Hemisphere. The main reason for this is that many publishing houses underinvest in marketing books. A person in the public eye who actively promotes their book following international book marketing strategies is likely to achieve a substantial sales volume.
You will be the copyright holder and owner of your book and hold the right to profit from sales. Metro Writers can discuss promotional strategies with you during the initial discussions.

09. Who will be the author on the front cover of my book?

It's your choice. Most people choose to have their own name listed as the author on the cover, while others prefer to be the subject of a book written by someone else. Either way, the book will be professionally written and edited, while you will have complete control over the content.

10. What happens if I'm not satisfied with my book?
It's very common for early drafts of your book content to fall below expectations, which is why we always revise the writing according to your feedback. Usually once the text is revised following your suggestions for improvement, the final result is excellent.
We develop your book content in close consultation with you, so you will know early on if there's a problem. Nothing will be included in your book without your approval, and you can cancel the book project at any time.

11. Who will design my book cover?

Book covers are usually designed by our staff based on your guidance. Most of our book production packages will include the fee for a photographer to take your picture for a cover shot, although you are likely to have an appropriate shot already. You are also welcome to submit a cover design of your own, although we will advise if there is an issue with your artwork (quite often the image quality is too low for printing).

12. Will Metro Writers help me market and distribute my book?
Our basic service is book production, but we have marketing solutions available for discussion. We are able to guarantee international distribution via Amazon and can arrange for distribution only. We can support you to negotiate a better distribution deal with local distributors, ideally in cooperation with your agent or representative. We can submit your book to traditional overseas publishers, although we cannot guarantee publication by this method.
These arrangements can be clarified and discussed in detail during the initial conversations.
